The listening center is a place where children can go to listen to their teacher, parents, or other volunteers read recorded books. In addition, children may sometimes listen to music or stories on tape while holding the books and looking at the pictures. This is also a quiet place for children to relax after a vigorous day of planning and playing.

When we play in the listening center, we are learning:

literacy skills
concentration skills
picture/word association
problem solving
critical thinking
letter/sound association
listening skills
positional concepts (in, out, up, down, top, bottom, etc.)
