Children's curiosity about the world they live in is encouraged and specifically planned for. Nature and other objects in children's environment are of high interest to them. Children learn about animals and organisms in their environment, the responsibility of caring for other living creatures, and how the world and the objects in it work. These topics spark observation, classification, documentation, measurement, predictions, and communicating with others.

When we play in the science center, we are learning:

caring for living things
observation and documentation
cause and effect
process of living organisms
problem solving
critical thinking
communication skills
