Dr. Carol Hagen

My doctorate is in early childhood education with a minor in history. In addition to directing the Child Development Laboratory, I am a faculty member in the early childhood education program. I began my career as a public school kindergarten and first grade teacher in Wisconsin and have been directing the CDL since 1987. I enjoy traveling and I collect antique toys, especially Victorian tin tea sets.

I have a B.S in Child Development and an M.S. in Early Childhood Studies from University of North Texas. I was a Master Teacher at the CDL from 2009-2019 in the three and four-year-old classroom before taking on the role of Assistant Director. Working at the CDL has been a wonderful experience, and I look forward to many more years ahead!
